Tihar of 2070 in Sakhuwagachhi

Tihar is one of the most celebrated festival of Hindu Religion and it is widely celebrated in Nepal and India. Tihar lasts for 5 days starting with Dog, Crow Pooja. The most joy part of Tihar is on Laxmi Pooja and Bhai Tika. In Laxmi pooja, people worship their money, jewellery, shops, house and every other stuffs related to money. People light candles, diyo, electric lights to lighten up the night and make it more enjoyable. Laxmi Goddess is believed to give more money and wealth to that house or shop who has more lights and is cleaned and worshipped from the heart.

In Sakhuwagachhi also Tihar is celebrated by lighting tube lights in streets, cleaning houses, lighting electric lights and candles and diyo. Every year a group of youths form a committee to take responsibility to celebrate Tihar. This year also Sakhuwagachhi was lighted and it was very enjoyable to watch.
